Hey y’allll, so I’ve been trying to build up my cruelty free skin care and makeup collection and I’m making prettttty good progress. I got a load of products in The Body Shop (post to come) and more recently made my first order from everyones fav, GLOSSIER! Here’s my thoughts…
So there they are, my first two products from Glossier. At £14 each, I was praying that both were going to live up to expectation! I’ll tell you now – they sure did.
First up, is the ‘Boy Brow‘ eyebrow product in the shade, brown. This is an all-in-one product that works to groom, thicken and fill in your brows in just a few strokes. I’ve tried this kind of product before but wasn’t tooooo keen but with all the shining reviews on this Glossier product, I decided to give it another go. I LOVED IT. I think the good quality ingredients definitely play a huge part in how easy this product is to use. I had a quick check on their website and read that beeswax is one of the key ingredients – a natural ‘glue’ which hold the hairs in place without making your brows rock hard like many cheaper alternatives. I’ve always struggled to find a eyebrow product that I really like, and usually end up going back to that Rimmel pencil that everyone has. With Boy Brow, doing my brows takes a lot less time and effort as I simply follow the natural shape of my brows and do a few more coats in places where they need a lil more filling in. I’m not surprised this product won a lot of awards, I’m obsessed.
Next up, *drum roll* introducing, ‘ Lash Slick‘ – a really fabbbbulous mascara.
Again, I’m really happy with this product! This was the first time i’ve used a mascara which has fibre technology. A formula that has tiny fibres within it which works to give that ‘lash extension’ look. This is a mascara that really defines each lash by thickening and lengthening each one. Also, I can’t believe how easy it is to remove this mascara at the end of the day – say goodbye to scrubbing your eyes with a cotton pad for 5 minutes! Another huge plus is the vegan biotin ingredient. This conditions and strengthens your lashes over time to keep them healthy and soft. Ok, final note on this mascara is about the brush itself. FOR YEARS, I have been using two different mascaras because I’ve never found a brush that is good for both top and bottom lashes – I hate when you do your bottom lashes and end up with product smudged everywhere. So, now compare my lashes up there in the brow pic with the lashes down here…pretty impressive! (Side note, this was just two coats of mascara – you can only imagine what more would be like for a heavier look!)
Thanks so much for reading! I would love to hear some recommendations on any other Glossier products you guys love! So let me know in the comments! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @alicevheather !
